About Darryn George. Darryn was born in Christchurch in 1970 and attended Canterbury School of Fine Arts, graduating in 1993. “I always enjoyed art. At art school I knew it was a privilege to make art each day, but I was conscious that one day I would need to get a real job!” Once he left art school, the routine of making art continued.

Darryn George Darryn George was born in 1970 of Ngapuhi descent. He lives and works in Christchurch. He completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Canterbury in 1993, a Diploma of Teaching at the Christchurch College of Education in 1994 and in 1998 a Master of Fine Arts at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
