British, 1809–1885. BIOGRAPHY. Cox was the son of an artist but it cannot be said that they were equals. David Cox, Junior, although he had success as a painter, thrived more as a teacher. He sent 579 works to different institutions to be shown. He exhibited in London, mostly at the Society of Painters in Watercolours, between 1827 and 1884.
