David LaPlantz is an accomplished jeweler and sculptor. Originally from the farmlands of Northwestern Ohio, he has been designing and creating jewelry and metalwork since 1964. He earned his BS from Bowling Green State University and his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan.

Most of his pieces only take a few hours to complete, and are spontaneously designed. In the 1980 s, LaPlantz taught thirty hours a week at Humboldt State University, and was still able to make hundreds of pieces of jewelry in a year.Born: Jun 12, 1944
