French 1828-1910. Studied at the Ypres and Lille schools of Art before entering the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris under the direction of Leon Cogniet. Exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1857. Also exhibited at the 1864 Exhibition held at the Palais des Champs-Elysées in Paris. De Coninck specialized in genre and historical scenes often with young women.

Salomon (de) Koninck (1609 - buried 8 August 1656) was a Dutch painter of genre scenes and portraits, and an engraver. Koninck was born in Amsterdam, the son of a goldsmith, originally from Antwerp, and was a nephew of Philips de Koninck. Salomon became a pupil of Pieter Lastman, David Colijns, François Venants and Claes Corneliszoon Moeyaert.Birth place: Amsterdam (then Dutch Republic), Netherlands
