We were there in December with one of our Dominican friends. The colony was opened in the early 1980's, and is designed as a Spanish mission. Many celebrities have been married in the church in the colony. When they say artists' colony, they mean any possible art for, paint, pottery, acting, fashion design, weaving, etc. Everything is there.
