While visiting New York as a student in 1982 I filled a sketchbook with sketches of the city. When I returned a put it away and was forgotten until one day after the tragic events of 9/11 I came accross it.

Douglas Purdon an incredibly talented painter of rural Canadian landscapes, but also a gifted educator. A lifelong Toronto resident, he graduated from the Ontario College of Art (now OCAD) and now gives popular lectures and workshops at the University of Toronto, Loyalist College, and other private groups. He also is an educational and technical advisor for Winsor & Newton.

Canadian artist Douglas Purdon and I met a long time ago (in Internet years) when we were both members of the Artist's Forum on Compuserve. I had the good fortune to meet Doug in person at a NAMTA trade show in Toronto and to see his incredible oil paintings.
