I am more of a shaker folk artist than a naive folk artist, my works are not refined but neither are they simple. I also do folk art paintings on wood panels and framed with old fashioned windows. This has been a great relaxing hobby for me. I leave a little bit of myself behind in each and every carving I do.

Douglas Purdy was born in 1940. The offspring of two artists, Douglas has devoted most of his life to sculpture, working in every media of metal. He grew up in the Los Altos Hills, Ca. area and started designing in his parent's studio while still in grade school.
