Douglas Anderson was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. His father was a career army officer, so as a child he lived in many parts of the U.S. and in Germany. Anderson studied Fine Art at the York Academy of Arts and Art Education at Millersville University of Pennsylvania as well as courses through the University of the Arts.
