Artist Statement Adapting the classical form of the human figure to a contemporary context, Douglas Wolfe creates richly textured paintings that are both modern and timeless. Douglas is an indirect painter, solving formal issues in his paintings through successive layers and allowing each new layer to suggest a different direction for the painting.
