EDWARD WESSON RI, RSMA. 1910 – 1983. Edward ‘Ted’ Wesson was born in Blackheath, London in 1910 and was educated at Colfe’s Grammar School on Lewisham Hill. Although more interested in sport than any form of academia he nevertheless achieved some success under the guidance of his art master ‘Dad’ Worthy. With his father’s support Ted left the school in 1926 and found employment in textiles.

Mar 29, 2017 · Edward Wesson (April 29, 1910 - 1983) was an English watercolor artist. His work is known for its simplicity, boldness and mastery of brushwork. He is remembered by many painters as being a very encouraging teacher as well as for his excellent paintings. Today's exercise will be in using his painting style to capture the English countryside.
I enjoy painting things I see, things I imagine, and things I remember, in my own personal style. I fell in love with watercolor because it provides the opportunity to paint with both fluidity and precision. My favorite subject matter includes natural, organic shapes in nature and life. I paint my perception of them, using colors that sing.
