Edi Hila. Edi Hila was born in Shkoder in 1944. Hila studied painting at the National Academy of Art in Tirana until 1967, and subsequently worked until 1973 as a set designer for Albanian television. Around 1973–1974 he was found guilty of ‘propagating anti-conformist tendencies in relation to the social realist aesthetic’ and sentenced to an indefinite period of corrective labour, working as a factory porter.

Edi Hila was born in Shkodër in 1944 and works in Tirana. He is affiliated with the Tirana Academy of Fine Arts, where he is an influential teacher.
