Historic American Printmaking. Edna Boies Hopkins, née Edna Boies, was born in Hudson, Michigan, and married Ohio artist James R. Hopkins (1877-1969) in 1904. She studied at the Pratt Institute with Arthur Wesley Dow, at The Ohio State University, and in Paris. Although she was a painter, she is primarily known for print-making, specializing in color woodcut.
