Elena Volkova’s work follows post-minimalist aesthetic and focuses on liminal space, bringing attention to the everyday overlooked moments and addressing viewer's interaction with an art space. Volkova’s work has been a part of the Art in Embassies program, and has been exhibited in Sri Lanka and Myanmar, in addition to numerous local and national exhibitions.

Elena Volkova lived in Moscow. In 1947, Elena Andreevna a son, Valentin, who began to study painting. It was then that she took his son paint, Volkova turned herself to the painting (in 1961).
