Liz Hirsch is a writer, art historian, and Ph.D. Candidate at The Graduate Center, City University of New York. Her dissertation considers alternative institutions and cultural intersections in Los Angeles of the 1970s and 1980s. Other research interests include legacies of conceptual art, contemporary urbanism, manifestations of community, and artist identity in the twilight of the welfare state.
