A process driven project, it consisted of a research-led residency and exhibition involving two contemporary artists and a diverse group of A Level students from three south London schools. For one month, Amy Ash and Emma Finn worked alongside fourteen dedicated young people, using Gerald Moore Gallery as their studio space.

Emma Finn’s work begins with the potential at the black holes of technological history; when knowledge is put to use. Black holes where technology’s path deviated but pre-imagined the future. Finn aims to transport viewers to these interstitial ripples between reality and invention to open questions of what constitutes technology - its links to animism, chance and coincidence.

My work explores mistakes, as well as the black holes in technological history. Using moving image, drawing and other narrative devices, I aim to transport viewers to uncomfortable places that sit between reality and invention in order to create 'theoretical fictions' that explore theoretical issues such as communication, technology and non-human interconnection.
