I am an artist; a printmaker and mixed media artist. One of the many materials that I use is encaustic. The encaustic that artists work with is a combination of filtered beeswax, damar resin (not to be confused with damar varnish!) and pigments. Children’s crayons do not have the same chemical makeup.
