Jun 17, 2019 · Ever since I purchased Dr. Eric Avery’s huge linocut Massacre of the Innocents in 1994 from Judith Brody, who ran a gallery just north of the Phillips Collection in Washington, DC, it hung in my dining room just above the mantelpiece, where no doubt an immense gilt mirror was originally.. As you can imagine, Massacre has been quite a conversation piece when guests come to diner.
