Jan 21, 2014 · Ezra Winter, the artist of BPL's murals, was born in Manistee, Michigan in 1886. Educated at Olivet College, he entered the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts at age 22. Following Graduation he studied in Europe for five years where he received the Prix de Rome. This honor entitled him to three years of study and the American Academy in Rome.
