The artist is Kutani Ichigo (ie single hair), real name Asai Ichimo. Asai Ichimo was born in the present Kaga city in 1836. He learned pottery from Iidaya Hachiroemon of the famous Miyamoto kiln. Later, he became an Akae (Crimson painting) pottery painter, creating his own original designs.
