The non folding version and of the DX and SS have 1 g on difference if I recall correctly, the folding ones have 10 grams. I don't know what drives the cost, SS should be the more expensive...

Mar 17, 2013 · #1 - the SS now has a curved/rounded lip which is supposed to protect the skin more (more forgiving) as compared to the pointier edge that the DX and RG (also CJB) have. #2 - Weight. The DX is heavier than the SS. From what I've read straight razor users say the DX more closely feels like an actual straight due to the increased weight.

Mar 21, 2013 · Used a feather super pro blade and i like the weight and feel of the DX over the SS but the actual shave results were pretty close. The one plus to the DX was going with a little steeper angle especially on the ATG pass. Ill probably finish this blade out in the DX and give the Kai Razor a shot it feels to be real close in weight of the DX.

Most of us start with the Feather SS model, but end up with the Feather DX because it much more approximates the shave angle of a regular straight and lacks the lip around the blade of the SS.
