Jan 27, 2021 · Artist Bio. Adam Young is best known for his whimsical and colourful depictions of Eastern Canada, specifically Newfoundland. He was born in Halifax, NS, raised in Moncton, NB and has been living on Fogo Island, off the northeast coast of Newfoundland since 2008.

When the Shorefast Foundation approached Saunders with plans for a series of artists’ studios and an inn on various Fogo locations the architect jumped at the opportunity as it would be a chance for not only experimenting with traditional architectural forms, methods and materials in a unique location, but also for working in Newfoundland, where Saunders grew up.

The Fogo Island Arts project is the basis for an Arts Residency Program starting in 2010. Four studios around the island There are four studios: the bridge studio, tower studio, long studio and squish studio at various locations. All of them are architectonically intetesting and are in beautiful locations with gorgeous views. Long studio is on the Joe Batt's point trail.4/5(1)

Exhibition of one of the artist in residence of the Fogo Island Inn Studios We had a chance to see up-close all four artist studios associated with the Fogo Island Inn so it was very pleasant to visit the gallery and view the work of one of the artists who did a residency and was showing her work.
