well it depends how you're viewing the playlists but assuming you're using one of the default views, you can create a custom grouping, by right clicking on the top of the playlist (where it says artist, title etc) and using the %album% tag level 2

Is there a quick and easy way to have Foobar sort artists by last name when the Artist tag is spelled out regularly (e.g., Tim Hecker sorted under "H" instead of "T"), and for bands with "The" in front of their name by the letter after "The" (e.g., The Flaming Lips sorted under "F" instead of "T")?

Basically, it’s a pair of macros to help sort Various Artist albums in foobar2000, based on comparing the album artist and track artist. Mine differ from foobar’s default column in two ways that I can see: using Ω pushes all of the Various Artist albums to the bottom, and using the comparison keeps the Album Artist column out of the title when it’s the same as the Artist.
