well it depends how you're viewing the playlists but assuming you're using one of the default views, you can create a custom grouping, by right clicking on the top of the playlist (where it says artist, title etc) and using the %album% tag level 2

Basically, it’s a pair of macros to help sort Various Artist albums in foobar2000, based on comparing the album artist and track artist. Mine differ from foobar’s default column in two ways that I can see: using Ω pushes all of the Various Artist albums to the bottom, and using the comparison keeps the Album Artist column out of the title when it’s the same as the Artist.

Foobar2000 is very new to me and I’m just getting the hang of it. I see that there is a way to add themes to the mobile version. Currently on my desktop I have every release separated with a comment, then year. For example: comment (‘Album’) year (‘2006-06-19’). This is to keep my albums, singles, eps, live albums, etc. separate.

I want it to show "A Perfect Circle" (or any of the other artists) by itself and then group all of the other songs that have it as the first artist together. For a lot of my songs the album artist is usually just the first artist's name, but within the album the songs have multiple artists.

Jun 11, 2012 · -I believe this is the default sorting behavior for the program, although I don't know how proactively it is applied. Preferences->Media Library->Facets (on this page under library):Default sort order-The applies the sorting rules for anything generated by the facets plugin, which I think, but I'm not certain, you're using based on that screenshot.
