About Frederick G. Yost Biography. F. G. Yost was born and brought up in Connecticut and educated at the Polytechnic University of New York and IowaStateUniversity. About the Artist: Fred Yost (1888-1968) was born in Switzerland and his family settled in Ohio. He was a graduate of the Art Students League and a staff artist for the New York Herald. He served as president of the Ohio Watercolor Society. He loved and created many depictions of the Southwestern landscape during his career.
