Artist George Augustus Holmes "Born in 1852, George Holmes was a nineteenth century painter of genre scenes. He lived in Chelsea, London, from where he produced a remarkable body of work. He exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1852 and 1909, and also at the British Institute, Grosvenor Gallery and the Paris Salon between 1906 and 1911.
