George Vincent. 1796 - c.1836 . George Vincent was born in Norwich on 27th June, 1796, the son of James Vincent, a cloth manufacturer. After his education at Norwich Grammar School, Vincent became a pupil of John Crome (1768-1821), later known as 'Old Crome', one of the finest English landscape painters who was the founder and inspiration of The Norwich School.
