Born in 1959 in Castlebar, Co. Mayo. Ger gained a diploma in Painting and Print from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology in 1982 and graduated with a BA Honours Dergree from NCAD the following year. He lectured in Fine Arts, Painting and Print at GMIT from 1983 to 1985, before becoming Director at Artspace Studios, Galway.
