Jul 16, 2013 · Born in Ballarat, Gilda Gude became known as a painter and teacher. The Sister of Nornie Gude, Gilda also studied at the Ballarat School of Mines (SMB) Technical Art School, and was awarded a part MacRobertson Art Scholarship in 1937. Gilda Gude won the Melbourne Royal Art Society Drawing Prize in 1952. She lectured in art at RMIT from 1961.

Gilda GUDE (1918 - 1996) Born Ballarat Died Melbourne Gilda Gude worked in various media throughout her career, favouring figure and flower studies. She attended the Ballarat Technical Art School in the early 1930s. This artwork was completed for a competition run by a large art supply company. In 1952 Gude won the Royal Art Society Drawing Prize.
