The Benedetto version continued to use German maple and had fancier top wood (European spruce) and appointments, too. The final version of the Artist Award, on the other hand, was a near clone of the short scale, parallel-braced 1962 Artist Award. This version was part of Guild's Patriach series and was only available in 2013-14.
