Dec 02, 2017 · In 1874, Gutherz moved to St. Louis, MO where he was active with the art department of Washington University and the founding of the St. Louis School and the Museum of Fine Arts. He was commissioned to complete a mural for the Library of Congress in 1896 and remained in Washington, D.C. until his death in 1907.
