HENRY W. B. DAVIS DEAD London, December 3. -- Henry William Banks Davis, the painter, died last night. He was born in 1833. Mr. Davis was the son of E. J. Davis of the Middle Temple and studied art at the Royal Academy School, where he won two silver medals. He became an A.R.A. in 1873, and a Royal Academician in 1877.

Henry William Banks Davis, R.A. (1833-1914) Harvest rest, Boulogne oil on canvas 11 ¼ x 20 1/8 in. (28.5 x 51.1 cm.) Henry William Banks Davis specialised in paintings of landscapes with animals, mostly sheep, in Wales, Scotland and on the cliffs and hills of the areas around Boulogne, where he lived from 1861 to 1865.
