Hal Olsen was a US Navy Auto-pilot Specialist assigned to Instrument Trailer Group ITG-31, part of CASU-44 (Carrier, Aircraft Service Unit). Although not a member of the USAAF,Olson's work cannot be left out of any study of aviation nose art.
