Harry Stanbridge was born in Quesnel, B.C. in 1943. He began drawing and painting as a youngster and in 1963 moved to Vancouver to study at the Vancouver School of Art (now the Emily Carr College of Art and Design), and to launch his career with his first exhibition at Bau-xi Gallery in 1966.
