Harry R. Williams (1948-1991) is an artist, born in Columbus, Ohio, USA. Being deaf, he began drawing at age four as a means to communicate with his parents. Harry attended California School for the Deaf in Riverside, California. His peers, school counselors and parents encouraged him to pursue his career in Art. He graduated with a BA degree in Fine Art from Gallaudet University in 1974.

Harry R. Williams, who became deaf in infancy, was one of three deaf and two hearing children born to hearing parents in Columbus, Ohio. He attended the California School for the Deaf at Riverside and received his BA in Art from Gallaudet University. Williams was one of the founders the Deaf Art Movement based in Washington DC.
