Herbert Thomas Dicksee (1862-1942) was an English painter who specialised in paintings of dogs and animals. He studied at the Slade School of Art and his first painting was exhibited in 1881. His paintings were usually done from life; he kept numerous dogs as pets and frequented London Zoo.
