Fugere was predominantly an Art Deco sculptor, initially specialising in playful bronzes of idealised beauties, such as Salome and The Flapper. The present bronze is a clear example of his firsts pieces. Fugere studied with Barrias, Cavelier and Puech and exhibited at the Paris Salon.
