Jul 15, 2015 · Mr Purdy has been working as a professional artist on PEI for 57 years, when he first moved here from Halifax for a job with CFCY television in 1958. The PEI 1967 Centennial Medal for painting and sculpture and the PEI 1973 Centennial Arts Medal are among his accolades, as well as induction into the Order of Canada in 2001 and the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002.Author: Luke Kenny
