British 1911 - 2005. Henry Scott was a painter of marines and coastal subjects strongly associated with the Royal Society of Artists. As well as painting lucrative shipping portraits for some of his wealthy clientele, he also executed a number of works of British and American clippers. His works have often been confused with those of Montague Dawson.

BIOGRAPHY. Henry Scott exhibited with the Royal Society of Marine Artist from 1950 to 1966. During his career he made the acquaintance of many 19th & early 20th century sailing captains.
