Holly Hughes was born in San Antonio, Texas. Hughes works in studios both on NYC’s Lower East Side and in Columbia County, NY. She is a Professor Emerita at Rhode Island School of Design, where she taught graduate and undergraduate students and has been a frequent critic and lecturer at many national and international schools and institutions.
