The AR50 is an Artist series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in mid-1979. It was made in Japan by FujiGen. The AR50 features an arched maple top on a double-cutaway mahogany body mated to a set-in three-piece maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and pearloid dot position markers.

Since the hardware of the AR50 was chrome too, the base model for this guitar could have been the AR50 which only was available with solid coating, not with Antique Violin finish like this axe. But what catches the eyes immediately is the third single coil pickup in the middle made by Seymour Duncan.

Aug 14, 2016 · I picked up an '80 Ibanez AR-50 Artist earlier this year in a pawnshop. The main attributes of THIS guitar is the neck and the Super 70 pickups. The pickups sound amazing. You can play heavy overdriven tones and still hear the notes in the chords.
