Goldstar and Kentucky numbers are useless as are Fenders. With Ibanez one of the MEGA makers Im guessing that their serial numbering will also not be a dating system, especially with multi intruments and at least half a dozen different countrys making their instruments ( they dont make anything).

That is indeed a 593. According to my info, they were made 1974 -1978. During the 70's Ibanez ( they didn't actually make instruments, they were a marketing company) copied all the Gibson range. I played a lot of these models during the 70's. I even owned two 'Artist' 591's ( RB 5 Gibson). Great banjos! Ibanez come up on Ebay from time to time.

Jun 01, 2013 · No serial number anywhere but all original as far as my research could tell me. With a 5/8 or 11/16 bridge that Ibanez would probably howl with volume. Changes were easy, and I was not timid about messing around with it. This was my learning banjo, and I tore it down and set it up numerous times. Setup Rating: 4. Appearance
