Their biggest seller was the Artist Wreath, and it was very popular- it easily outsold the RB250's of the time, as their construction was the same- tube & plate, with a better rim, maple neck, and fancier inlays. It sold for about 2/3 of the price of the Gibson.

The headstock has wreath inlay along with the Ibanez logo. This has an armrest that also resembles the armrests used on 1970’s Gibson RB250 Banjos. The tailpiece is a clamshell with the Ibanez logo that also resembles 1970’s Gibson tailpieces. This also has a full size 20 hole tone ring which is a big deal.

Jun 01, 2013 · Quilted maple resonator, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with a wreath-style (Mother of toilet seat, probably) inlay in the fingerboard and peghead. Binding and purfling on the sides of neck and resonator. Purfling rings on back of resonator. The blond finished maple is striking.

Oct 18, 2008 · In the late '70s I owned an Ibanez Artist (591 FB 5-str.) which was a great banjo. It was blonde maple, fiddle peghead, wreath pattern, tube & plate flange, flathead, and chrome plated (definitely NOT aluminum). The craftsmanship, sound, and playability were all very good. I wish I still had it!

I had an Ibanez Artist blonde maple with wreath inlay for a while and sold it to a friend. It was a well made and fitted banjo. I wasn't crazy about the sound but I think replacing the multiply rim with a good 3 ply rim would have helped that out.

I've owned two Ibanez Artist banjos and have monitored their prices for over 5 years. I also think they are HIGHLY underrated. However, I think the price you should ask is dependent on the model of Artist banjo that you have. If it is prelitigation it could be a 590, 591, 592 or 593 model.
The Rustic Wreath is a stunning and affordable walnut stained maple banjo that honors the heritage of the instrument while taking on a sleek, minimalist feel. Hard to find Nechville banjos in stock! Innovative banjos made by Tom Nechville.
