Nov 15, 2011 · iPod/Music App in iOS5 not sorting artist list alphabetically. Hello. I've got what it seems to be an annoying bug from the new Music App/iPod in iOS5. It simply sorts my artists out of alphabetical order on the artist dashboard. I tried to use the option "group by album artist" on and off and it seems to have no effect on that issue.

Jan 20, 2012 · So my iPod touch isn't sorting artists correctly. The last "A" artist is the first artist in "B", the last "B" artist is the first artist in "C" etc. This is really annoying me and I need to know how to fix it, anybody know what's wrong or how to fix it?

Jan 24, 2015 · All you do is open your Itunes then select an album or playlist. Next what your going to do is right click the first song of the album and select "Get Info" from the menu. Then you will click on the "Sorting" tab at the top. Under the sorting tab you will find a field called "Sort name".

Nov 20, 2016 · These are the only things I can think of, since by default, the main Music library on any iDevice is set to alphabetical order. Actually on the first part of the sentence Sean pretty much explains it all and has always been the way iTunes works and installs by default unless the user changes it.

Jun 23, 2005 · Easier way: For Alphabetizing songs when it comes to going to “Artists”, highlight all the songs and then a window called “Multiple Song Information” should appear. Check off the boxes that say “Track Number” and leave them blank, then hit ok.

Apr 04, 2011 · The artists here are generally ordered alphabetically. Dizzee Rascal before Louis Armstrong before MGMT and so on. The exception is The Black Eyed Peas. This is because iTunes ignores 'The' and 'A' at the start of an artist name when sorting.

Note that the "Filters" button brings up a window on the bottom of the screen with the label "Sort by" and, at least on my mobile device, two selections: "Artists" and "Recently added". So no alphabetical, but the 'search' bar can help.

Over the weekend I upgraded my iPod 3 to iOS 5.1.1 and jailbroke it. Today I noticed that artists and albums are not properly sorted and it doesn't display everything.
