Jun 24, 2009 · At the moment I just have all the artists called the same thing and the name of the artist in the song title but after just 3 albums I'm already tired of doing this by hand and I still have another 55Gb to fill ;-) Actually I just found a setting on my iPod itself that lets you turn on/off compilations. Dec 20, 2015 · In the iTunes Column Browser, if the Artist column is displaying 'Compilations' instead of all the many different artists, simply control-click (right-click) for viewing options. I didn't realize there were so many preferences for the column browser, which is my preferred method of engaging with my music. So glad I found this!

If the “Compilations” menu is hidden, the iPod will list all artists in the artist listing, and ignore the “Part of a Compilation” setting in each track. Note that this works a bit differently on the iPod touch and iPhone than it does on the iPod classic/nano.

I completely closed the music app on the ipad then reopened it and all the artists did appear under their track names in compilations. I have added various artists under the album artist too. The only problem that remains is rather than displaying "Various Artists" under the thumbnail in picture 2 above, it shows a random artist name.

Jan 04, 2006 · Yep. For example, I have A Mighty Wind: the Album checked as a compilation in iTunes. If, on the iPod, I go into Music>Albums>A Mighty Wind: the Album , all the tracks are listed. If I instead go into Music>Artists>Mitch & Mickey>A Mighty Wind: the Album , I only get the four tracks with that name in the Artist field.
