Jan 25, 2010 · An album that has a single Album Artist and different Artists appears several times in the iPod Cover Flow although it looks just fine in iTunes. Tagging the tracks as "Part of a Compilation" only partially solves the issue since the album will appear in the iPod Cover Flow as a Compilation showing up in the end and not together with the "Album Artist" like in iTunes and like it should.

Oct 23, 2007 · I don't think you can change the sort order in Cover Flow on the iPod, but you can fix the problem with compilations. The Album Artist field allows you to specify the nominal artist for the album. For compilations you could use "Various" or "Various Artists". Cover Flow will use the Album Artist field in preference to the Artist field.

Oct 06, 2006 · i found the solution, for me at least: if you select one track only and click “get info” you can set the “sort artist” in the sorting tab to the main performer of the album, so that you can get only one album in cover flow on the ipod. but you have to change it for each track that has multiple artist. works fine when are just a few

Sep 13, 2006 · So stupid!!!! When I put cover flow view, it puts the artwork many times if I have the same album with different artists in it (like Artist Feat. X, artist Feat. Y). Dec 06, 2009 · My itunes 9 easily sorts the albums on cover flow by "albums", "albums by artist", and "albums by year". However, my ipod classic does not do this. It only sorts by artist, resulting in many repetitions of the same cover (i.e. 500 days of summer soundtrack now shows up 16 times in the cover flow). This is madness. It used to sort by album and only have it pop up once, just like my itunes.
