May 23, 2017 · I prefer to view my music by artist alphabetically. For some reason my Itunes refuses to sort my music alphabetically by artist. I do not have this problem by song title. This is what I have done to try to fix this: - Upgrade to the most recent version of itunes - Select the song and chose "info" then deleted the artists name and retyped it.

Apr 04, 2011 · The artists here are generally ordered alphabetically. Dizzee Rascal before Louis Armstrong before MGMT and so on. The exception is The Black Eyed Peas. This is because iTunes ignores 'The' and 'A' at the start of an artist name when sorting.

Not sure on album view, but in song view, ordering is dependent on the path you take to get to that ordering. Sorting by track then album then artist gives a different final order than sorting by album then track then artist.
