James Michael Brown (1843-1947) Trained at the Royal Scottish Academy, (James) Michael Brown was born in 1853, the son of a Fife engraver. He exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1890 and 1900, and at the Royal Scottish Academy between 1879 and 1897.
