Welcome to the Artists’ Colony of Jerusalem. Hutzot HaYotzer (as it is known in Hebrew) is a charming studio-lined lane at the foot of the Old City walls, within a short walk from the Jaffa Gate and Mamilla Mall. Established in 1967 by the legendary mayor of Jerusalem, Teddy Kollek, the artist colony is a bridge between western and eastern Jerusalem.

It used to be the main sea-port of Israel , whether you travelled by war-ship like Napoleon or whether you travelled by Whale, as did Jonah. Dec 12, 2016 · It was originally built by Rolla Floyd, who opened a tourist agency and cargo shipping (by wagon) company, and was one of the first tour guides in the Holy Land. Over the years, this house, like the others in the colony, fell into ruin. Wentworth family and restored in 2002 by Jean and Reed Holmes, this wooden house was brought from Maine, USA on the sailing vessel, the Nellie Chapin, along with 35 families and their wooden houses.
