James Christensen, son of Sibyl and Harry Christensen, was born September 26, 1942, in Culver City, California. He grew up two blocks from the M.G.M. studio; consequently, he and his friends often played in the back lot of the studio in Tarzan's pond or on sets for movies such as Gone With the Wind.

Biography. James Christeen was born in 1942 and he’s been an artist nearly that long. He grew up in Culver City, California and then attended UCLA and BYU for art before enjoying a 20 year career as an art educator. His paintings are dripping in fantasy and inspired by myths, fables, and his own imagination. Many of them carry a philosophical message, which he usually leaves up to the viewer to interpret.
