Jan Jorgensen has had many solo exhibitions of her work over a thirty year period in Brisbane and Sydney. She studied art at Brisbane Girls Grammar, Brisbane College of Art, and a further three year period as a mature student at Kelvin Grove campus of BCA. Archibald prize winner William Robinson was her principal tutor twice, many years apart.

Brisbane born artist Jan Jorgensen studied art at BGGS then at the now Queensland College of Art for two years before working as an artist on a Brisbane newspaper. After freelancing, there was a further three years of study for an Associate Diploma of Visual Art at the College of Art, Kelvin Grove, with tutor William Robinson.
